You’re an engaged couple heading towards “I do” and you want to meet other couples in the same phase of life as you.

You want friendships that come with understanding, support, and fruitful conversation.

Join us at Common Ground where engaged couples meet for intentional time to connect and talk all things commitment and marriage-planning.

We’re so excited to introduce and welcome all premarital couples to our newest group, Common Ground. Led by Kayla Sammons, one of our fantastic LMFT Associates, Common Ground will give couples heading into marriage a safe space for conversation, support, and understanding from couples walking down a similar life path.

Let’s be honest - making new friends as an adult can be hard.

Making new friends as a couple can be even harder!

Throw in a desire to make friends who are in the same phase of life as you and your partner, who understand the tough topics and conversations that come about during this season, and who will support you through it all, well… you get what we’re saying!

Who is this group for?

  • Dating or engaged/committed couples who are working through premarital counseling (or have completed it)

  • Couples interested in socializing and networking with other couples

  • Couples who don’t want to feel friendship-scarcity during this amazing time of life

  • Couples who are open to letting their relationship grow in a relaxed setting

What is the group like?

Couples will enjoy social time with complimentary refreshments. There will be opportunities to get to know other couples who are in a similar phase as you! Don’t worry, it’s not speed dating.

Your facilitator Kayla will shift the group into a relaxed and intentional conversation around relevant topics for the group to participate in. Some topics will include:

  • Prioritizing your relationship amidst wedding-planning stress

  • The importance of dating throughout this phase of your life

  • Managing money stress during wedding planning

  • How to talk about the hard things

  • Post-marital stressors

  • Boundaries when blending families (in-laws, siblings, and the rest!)

The group will get together the third Wednesday of the month at our MLC office in Dallas from 6-7:30pm.

RSVPs are required to ensure space accommodations.

Upcoming dates for Common Ground:

March 20th: Boundaries When Blending Families

April 17th: Managing Money Stress

May 15th: Importance of Dating Through Life
