“Hold yourself back, or heal yourself back together. You decide.”
― Brittany Burgunder

“I’m not good at relationships.”

“I’m constantly afraid my partner will leave me.”

“Relationships are so draining. I’m tired of feeling smothered.”

“I just don’t think I can do commitment.”

You may feel uncertain and overwhelmed, but one thing is true: you know you can’t continue on this way.

Whether you’re coming out of another painful breakup, avoid intimacy like the plague, or have anxiety that you simply can’t ignore anymore, it’s time to pause and turn inward.

So many people fall back onto the notion that they are destined for these relational woes; that something is wrong with THEM and that they are unchangeable. Some people actually believe a great relationship with others (and with their Self) just isn’t in the cards for them…that they’re destined for a shitty love life and sub par fulfillment in adulthood.

Is this you?

These false narratives can stop here, now.

At Millennial Life Counseling, we are here to help you overcome the negative hold your past may have on you.

Many people don’t realize that trauma isn’t just about experiencing an isolated, catastrophic event. Trauma can also be found in our developmental, relational experiences from childhood. The environment you grew up in is the foundation where you began cultivating your attachment style, or the way you relate to your partner and others in life as an adult (including your business and professional life). When we don’t understand, process, or heal from these origin wounds, life and relationships can be difficult.

How do I know if I have trauma?

Some common symptoms may be:

PTSD symptoms (nightmares, memories of trauma, heightened anxiety, flashbacks, panic attacks)

Feeling increased sensitivity to rejection or abandonment in relationship

Feeling a hyperawareness to others’ needs as a precondition to your own health

Depression or anxiety
