Helping you overcome infidelity & betrayal
Affair/betrayal recovery is meaningful work that I hold with high regard. It is immensely challenging to process the pain of deception. There are many layers associated with reconciliation after certain truths are revealed. My goal is to work delicately to ensure there is space to grieve what once was between the two of you, in order to create space for what now is.
The ecosystem of love can be extremely complex. Unfortunately, it is quite easy to pollute that ecosystem with anxiety, conflict and codependence/enmeshment. My overall goal with couples is to act as a filtration system, a third party assisting to ensure both parties feel emotionally safe with one another. Emotional safety paves the way for genuine understanding, compassion and mutual respect. As I operate with concepts derived from the Bowen Family Systems theory, we will work diligently to create an atmosphere where both parties are heard, discovered and valued.
6 Hour Intensives for Couples
Often, certain lifestyles do not allow the opportunity to meet on a weekly or biweekly rotation. In other circumstances standard slots just aren't enough to get to the root of certain issues due to intense conflict, emotions or other barriers.
Six-hour intensives are available once monthly and are ideal for those who need more than the traditional 45-minute meeting.
Frequently Asked Questions
about the couples intensive:
-
The intensive is a full-day, solution-focused session designed for couples who want concentrated time and space to address issues that have been putting real strain on the relationship. It's available to both new and existing couples.
-
This format works especially well for couples navigating affair or betrayal recovery, and for couples stuck in high-conflict patterns. Common issues we address include a lack of empathy or compassion toward one another, extreme reactivity between partners, severe distancing or projection within the relationship, and constant triangulation (the unwanted pull of third parties into the relationship).
-
The day is structured to move you from history and insight into practical, real-time work:
Setting the foundation: Establish or re-establish concrete goals for the relationship, gather relationship history, explore fusion versus differentiation, and take a genealogy for each partner.
Individual focus: Uninterrupted time for each partner to voice exactly what they need to maintain your goals after the intensive, and to name their own contribution to what's getting in the way.
Coming together: Each partner shares their understanding of what the other needs long-term, and you'll collaboratively identify the realistic barriers that have derailed past efforts and build a strategy to navigate them.
Closing: Address any remaining anxiety about life after the intensive and close with final thoughts.
Breaks and a lunch hour are built into the day.
-
Clarity on what your partner needs from you to sustain long-term change, and a concrete treatment plan or strategy for handling the obstacles most likely to come up after the intensive ends.
-
The intensive includes 5 clinical hours (plus breaks and lunch) at $250 per clinical hour, for a total of $1,250. A 50% deposit is required to book your session, with the remaining balance due at the completion of the intensive.
-
Intensives are held on the first Friday of each month, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can inquire about scheduling for the next available month by contacting info@hellomlc.com.
